IFAs call for innovation on retirement products

The vast majority of IFAs believe new retirement solutions are needed to meet their clients' changing needs, according to a survey by Aegon.

More than eight out of ten IFAs (86pc) say their clients want more flexible retirement products. A similar number (84%) say they expect their clients' retirement needs to change throughout retirement and therefore welcome the development of products that can provide an income which can rise and fall accordingly. In addition, 84pc said increasing numbers of their clients intended to carry on working in some capacity after reaching retirement age.
