Government plans on how to integrate pensions information between the state scheme and personal accounts, should include details of how scheme members can access advice from IFAs.
In its report: ‘Personal Accounts’, the Work & Pensions Select Committee welcomes the establishment of the Thoresen Review into generic advice, but raises concerns that the details of personal accounts will be set out before an information network is in place. The Committee points out concerns about how the new scheme will interact with means-tested benefits in retirement, and where people will go to get information and advice, means the provision of generic financial advice and “well-signposted routes to individualised personal financial advice” will be key to making personal accounts a ...
