Scottish Life has a property weighting in its Balanced Managed Pension Fund, which is 12 times the sector average thanks to its "Managed Strategies" initiative.
The initiative, launched in September 2004, has been designed to move away from teh 'herding mentality' seen in the managed funds sector by offering intermediaries and their clients a fuller diversification of assets more relevant to their needs. This has resulted in a range which meets clients’ expectations of managed funds, by offering a broader spread of assets designed to perform in a wider range of market conditions.
