Most people have little faith a new government computer system will manage their pension savings effectively and do not feel confident when it comes to choosing how their pension savings should be invested, new research reveals.
A Populus poll for the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) reveals consumers have doubts about what are two of the principle features of the National Pension Savings Scheme (NPSS) proposed by the Pensions Commission. Overall 51% of people were not confident a government IT system would manage their pension savings effectively and 54% expected there to be glitches. The poll also indicates most people are not confident about choosing how to invest their pension savings and would prefer to leave it this decision to experts.
