Aegon wants top five annuity position by 2007

Aegon UK is planning to build on its entrance to the individual annuities market to become one of the top five companies by the end of next year.

Until June last year, Aegon only concentrated on offering annuities to their own pension customers, but towards the end of 2005 they made a low-key entrance to the market with the introduction of an Open Market Option. Launched under the Scottish Equitable brand, because of it's pensions connections, Aegon says it has received a very encouraging response from IFAs who seem pleased there is another player in the annuities market.
