More than one in three UK workers, which is the equivalent of 8.5 million individuals, claim they are not offered a pension scheme by their employer, new research indicates.
The survey conducted by life insurance group AXA, finds the figure goes up to four in ten people for those in part-time employment compared with 28% for full-time counterparts. Axa says a third of those who do not sign up to an occupational pension scheme believe their company does not properly communicate the benefits of the scheme to them. Moreover, old-fashioned communication methods still rank highly among employees, suggests the survey, as 57% put receiving company letters as their preferred source of information, along with annual statements at 53% and booklets with 41%, according...
