Rosie Winterton has left her position as pensions minister at the department for work and pensions.
Winterton - who had only been in the role since October last year - has been appointed minister of state for regional economic development and co-ordination. Her replacement at the DWP has not yet been announced. Winterton's departure followed the resignation of work and pensions secretary James Purnell and his subsequent replacement by the former chief secretary to the treasury Yvette Cooper.
