Vox pop: What NEST means to the man on the street

The UK public is still in the dark over the National Employment Savings Trust just a year before it is due to launch, a poll has found.

Just one in 20 people polled by IFAOnline's sister title Professional Pensions on the streets of central London today had heard of NEST and knew what it was for. This is despite an HSBC survey released this week suggested 52% were aware of the scheme. A number of respondents mistakenly thought the scheme was related to National Savings and Investments (NS&I), after it recently launched an inflation-linked bond to protect savers.
