O'Neill leaves Standard Life following suspension

Standard Life's former managing director of corporate Gerry O'Neill has decided to leave the firm following his suspension last month, the provider confirmed today.

A statement issued by the company said O'Neill will "pursue other interests". The announcement comes after O'Neill was suspended last month, pending an investigation. Standard Life said the recent internal investigation concerning O'Neill has reached a conclusion and decided that no further action will be taken. The statement added: "We would like to reassure advisers and customers that there has been no impact on our operations as a result of this process and there will be no impact in future."
