The issue of advising small pension pots is to be debated in the House of Lords on 27 November.
Chief executive of the International Longevity Centre UK (ILC-UK) Baroness Sally Greengross will ask government to explain the actions it will take to ensure people with small pensions receive access to good advice. The debate is the latest stage in a long running campaign to highlight the issue spearheaded by the ILC-UK and annuity provider Partnership. The campaign's basis is that while RDR will do much to improve the advisory market its unintended consequence is that advisers will not be able to economically service those with small pension pots.
