Hargreaves sets up pension contribution calculator

Hargreaves Lansdown has set up a pension contribution calculator to help people work out their annual allowance and carry forward allocations.

It said the tool had been set up for DIY investors ahead of the end of the tax year and following the drop in the top rate of income tax. Danny Cox, head of advice said: "We're not looking to replace IFAs here but we do believe this an area of financial planning where investors can be helped to make their own planning decisions. "As the advice and the platform markets evolve, we will continue to look for ways to help investors plan their finances as efficiently as possible."
