The Pensions Regulator (TPR) has issued its first notice to an employer which has failed to meet its auto-enrolment (AE) duties.
TPR confirmed the non-compliance notice, which compels employers to make specific remedial action, was served to an un-named company in the period to 12 August. A further 38 warning letters were issued to businesses in this time. Warning letters are part of TPR's formal compliance process but do not come within its statutory powers. Last month, TPR revealed a total of 89 investigations had been launched into possible non-compliance with statutory duties by early staging employers.
