Having spent more years than I care to admit in this industry, some advising financial services providers in Europe against imposing their ‘product sophistication' on a range of unsuspecting markets around the globe, I treat the notion that the UK can somehow ‘export' the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) to the rest of the world with a degree of wry suspicion.
