Former pensions minister and Liberal Democrat MP Steve Webb has been handed a knighthood for political and public service in this year's New Year's honours list.
Now director of policy at Royal London, Webb (pictured) was a member of parliament for almost two decades. While minister of state for pensions during the coalition government, Webb introduced the "triple-lock" pension guarantee and implemented auto-enrolment into workplace pensions, which has resulted in seven million people newly saving for retirement.
