Royal London has published a guide to help families spot warning signs loved ones may have fallen victim to a financial scam, including suggestions on how to bring up what can be an awkward subject.

The mutual insurer's latest ‘Good with your Money Guide' - Is your loved one being scammed? What are the signs and what can you do about it? - can be downloaded here. "Piles of post hidden away, concern over missing postal deliveries and talk of high-returning investment opportunities can all be signs family members or friends may have been targeted," the group said. Scam activity has risen strongly in recent years with people being targeted online, via phone or mail and in person.
