The popularity of emerging markets and bonds among investors fell in the first quarter of the year, according to a CFA UK survey based on its quarterly Valuations Index.
The survey measured investors' perceptions of the value of bonds, gold and equities in Q1 2019. Multiple changes in investors' views of the core asset classes have been identified since the previous quarter as less buying appeal was seen in emerging market equities and bonds. This comes after a period of underperformance for emerging market equities in 2018.
