Unique Financial Planning has grown up from a number of individual practices coming together into a business with 31 advisers in 5 locations across the South East. Managing director Philip Martin speaks to Julia Bahr about the firm's growth plans and long-term ambitions...

Unique FP currently has about £800m assets under influence and there is no reason to suspect it cannot reach and surpass the 10-figure mark of £1bn. "We've got 31 advisers," Martin says, "and we would like to see that closer to 40 or 45. We plan to continue to grow through other acquisitions and through developing our own internal capabilities."  The firm's MD says the company is in "advanced stage" conversations with one other business, which would provide some younger advisers and an opportunity to grow.
