UK investors are increasingly leaning on advisers for guidance and support when it comes to ESG investing, research from M&G Wealth suggested.
The report found a third (35%) of consumers expected their adviser to be an expert in ESG investing, while a further 23% anticipated their adviser would introduce the topic into financial planning discussions. One-in-ten (9%) would not want their adviser to bring the subject of ESG investing to the table, according to the study. Half (51%) said their financial adviser or investment manager had not raised the topics of socially responsible investing (SRI) or ESG with them.
