IFA with seven claims declared in default by the FSCS

The firm has unsecured creditors in the sum of around £149.6k

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has declared Derbyshire-based financial advice firm Hallmark in default.

The firm, trading as Hallmark Mortgages & Overseas Properties, Hallmark (East Midlands), and formerly Abbot Insurance Brokers ceased to be authorised to provide regulated activities and products by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on 23 September 2011, according to the FCA register. It was dissolved on 2 March 2022. The FSCS told Professional Adviser it has received seven claims from former customers of Hallmark.
