Building rapport with clients might not always be easy but it can be achieved by following a five-point process which puts people at ease and will help advisers "get hired at the first meeting", delegates heard.

Kingsland Wealth Management director and Chartered financial planner Edward Marshall outlined his top tips for advisers looking to build instant rapport with clients which he said could help advisers get hired at the initial meeting and would inspire clients to take action "so they can live their own ideal lives". Speaking on behalf of the Million Dollar Round Table networking organisation at the Personal Finance Society Festival of Financial Planning 2022 on 2 November, he said: "Rapport - we all love rapport whether we understand it or not but we love being in rapport with each other. ...
