FSCS declares Cardiff-based British Steel adviser firm in default

The lifeboat fund received 12 claims related to pension transfer advice

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has declared Cardiff-based financial advice firm Bartholomew Financial in default.

The firm has been in liquidation since 6 June 2022, according to the FCA Register. On 27 April 2022, it was a decided at a member's general meeting that the firm would be voluntarily wound up, with the liquidator appointed on 2 May 2022.   The firm had two executive directors, Georgina and Dino Bartholomew, with the latter also holding compliance oversight and money laundering reporting roles.
