Aviva boss joins BlackRock's board as non-exec director

Mark Wilson, the group chief executive at Aviva, has joined the board at BlackRock as a non-executive director.

Wilson's appointment to board of the world's largest asset manager was confirmed in a note to the stock exchange this morning.  He joined Aviva group chief executive at the start of 2013, according to the firm's website. Aviva's market capitalisation has risen from £11b to more than £2bn during his tenure.   Wilson is one of three new board members at BlackRock. The other two are private equity chief executive Bill Ford and Peggy Johnson, an executive vice-president at Microsoft.
