UK adults with a defined benefit (DB) pension scheme are more retirement confident than those with a defined contribution (DC) arrangement, Nucleus Financial has found.
According to Nucleus' UK Retirement Confident Index which included 2,200 UK adults aged 50 plus, those surveyed with a DB scheme (58%) scored 7.5 out of ten in confidence. Meanwhile, respondents with a DC scheme (29%) scored 6.4. In terms of other pension types, people with an individual personal pension (27%) scored 6.8, those with an individual stakeholder arrangement scored 6.5 and then respondents who have a personal pension but do not know what type (11%) scored 5.5.
